The inspiration for these earrings comes from the sparkler earrings by Alex and Ani, best known for their charm bangles.
To make these earrings you will need:
• 2 colors of rhinestone chain
• Jewel glue (I used E6000 and Aleene’s Jewel Glue)
• Scissors
• Wire cutters
• Left over packaging plastic (I think I saved mine from the packaging the earring posts came in)
• Earring posts
Begin by cutting two pieces of rhinestone chain with 3 stones each. Cut them in the color you want in the middle of your earrings.
Cut four pieces of the other color of rhinestone chain with 2 stones each. Lay out your pieces and make sure you like the combo.
Cut two pieces of your plastic to be roughly the size of your earrings that you laid out.
Apply glue to the plastic and let it sit for a minute or two to get a little more tacky.
Arrange your rhinestones on the plastic in the glue. If there’s a lot of excess, wipe it off with a scrap of plastic or a toothpick.
Allow your earrings to dry for as long as you have the patience.
When you feel like they’re dry enough (at least an hour, more if you can stand to wait), use wire cutters or small scissors to trim the excess plastic and glue that might be poking out around your rhinestones.
Flip them over and glue on earring posts. Allow to dry again.
Wear!
